Print Head release
for older generation printers Epson Stylus Photo 900 and Epson Stylus Photo 1270, 1280, 1290, 1290S Unplug the printer, manually push the print head to the far right to take up any residual end play, usually about 1/4". To the left of the print head protruding up from the metal floor pan is a white piece of plastic that protrudes up about 1/4". If you have small ladies fingers then push the plastic down into the metal floor pan. If you have lumberjack fingers then use a pencil with an eraser and do the same.
